Who We Are:

The Kentucky Cooperative Extension Fine Arts Program is the Cooperative Extension Service’s program responsible for developing and promoting support for arts education and development in Kentucky counties collaborating with the Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service. The Kentucky Extension Fine Arts Program works in partnership with the University of Kentucky College of Fine Arts and other local, state, and national arts organizations. The Kentucky Extension Fine Arts Program is coordinated by the Cooperative Extension Service, Community and Economic Development Initiative of Kentucky. Mission: The mission of the Extension Fine Arts Program is to create and support opportunities in the arts for citizens that will stimulate creativity, promote participation, and recognize artists, arts educators, and arts supporters at all levels and mediums.

Whitley County Fine Arts Bicentennial Exhibit

ARTifacts: 20 decades of Whitley County Call for Submission of Artifacts Whitley County Fine Arts is accepting submissions for our upcoming exhibit: ARTifacts: 20 decades of Whitley County. Join us in celebrating 200 years of Whitley County history by submitting artifacts that reflect the history and culture of Whitley County. Suggestions include: handmade items, household items, farm tools, historic clothing, etc. Please bring your artifact along with a brief history and story about the item to the Whitley County Extension Community Art Center, 428 Main Street, Williamsburg, KY 40769 between the hours of 8:00-4:30, March 19-23. All submissions welcome, but not all will be selected. After receiving submissions, a panel of local jurors will review artifacts to curate an exhibit that creatively reflects our Bicentennial theme and celebration. Whitley County Extension Service is a climate-controlled space with a security system for safe display of your treasured piece of Whitley County history.
